Thepla is a tasty Indian Gujarati flatbread made with wheat flour and few spices.Kakdi Thepla is a variation of the traditional thepla in which grated cucumber is added to the flour making it healthier and tastier.
Try making this easy, healthy and delicious Kakdi Thepla and enjoy it with some chunda,pickle or curd!
Ingredients
Grated cucumber(घिसा हुआ ककड़ी)-1 cup
Salt to taste(नमक)
Turmeric powder(हल्दी पाउडर)-1/2 tsp
Coriander powder(धनिया पाउडर)-1 tbsp
Red chilli powder(लाल मिर्च पाउडर)-1 tsp
Asafoetida powder(हींग)-1/4 tsp
Roasted cumin powder(भुना जीरा पाउडर)-1 tsp
Oil(तेल)-1 tbsp
Coriander leaves(धनिया पत्ता)-a handful
Wheat flour(गेहूं का आटा)-1 cup
Chickpea flour(बेसन)-2 tbsp
Oil for roasting(तेल)
Method
Wash and dry cucumber.Peel it and grate it.
In a bowl,add grated cucumber,salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder,red chilli powder, asafoetida powder, roasted cumin powder,oil, coriander leaves and mix well.
Add wheat flour,besan and mix.Knead into a soft dough without adding any water.
Roll into balls and flatten slightly.Roll into circular shape and roast thepla on hot tawa using oil or ghee.
Serve healthy and tasty Kakdi Thepla with thecha,pickle or curd and enjoy!
