Vallby open-air museum is an open-air museum in Västerås . The museum is located at Skerikesvägen 2 near the E18 about two kilometers north of Västerås center. The museum began to be built in 1921 and is today run by the city of Västerås.
The museum shows environments from both urban and rural areas, of which the oldest is from the 17th century. Within the area there are preserved wooden and stone houses from town and country, endangered landrace animals , cultivations of cultivated and ornamental plants and handicrafts. Today, Vallby open-air museum is one of Sweden's largest open-air museums with around 40 buildings.
