Sacheen Littlefeather Reads Marlon Brando’s Full 1973 Oscars® Speech

Brando asked Littlefeather to decline his Best Actor award in protest of the treatment of Native Americans in the entertainment industry and to bring attention to the AIM demonstrations at Wounded Knee. This recording is the first time the full speech has been read by Littlefeather for the Academy.
