Addis Ababa's Riverside Project (or Beautifying Sheger) is a massive urban renewal initiative transforming 51 km of riverbanks, including the Kebena and Akaki rivers, into green, public spaces.

Peacock Park is a major component of the transformative Sheger Riverside Project in Addis Ababa, rapidly developing into a premier recreational hub. The project features modern, landscaped riverbanks, expanded zoo facilities for endemic lions, artificial lakes, and extensive pedestrian walkways with, 4K-lit paths.

The development includes new, high-standard bicycle lanes, leisure areas, and, in some areas, the construction of artificial lakes as part of the broader Beautifying Sheger project.

The area is transforming rapidly, with recent updates highlighting it as a, "new jewel" for, leisure and walking in the capital.

Riverfront & Landscaping is the area features revitalized, clean river channels with landscaped, illuminated walking paths.
