In this video we go over rebuilding GM Full Size Truck Rear 13" rear drum brakes including replacing the brake shoes, pins and springs (8 lug 3/4 ton wheel 13" size drums). The vehicle shown is a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500 with 6.5L Diesel engine (equivalent to K2500 gear) and the maintenance / repair is specifically applicable to all 3/4 ton chassis geared GMT400 old body style (OBS) trucks both Chevy, Holden, and GMC. For 1/2 ton trucks the procedure will be very similar, but there are different part numbers not covered below. Applicable to Suburban, Sierra, Silverado, Cheyenne, W/T models across 1995 96 97 98 99 and 2000.
In this video the 13" size drum specific rear brake drum shoes, pins and all the springs are replaced with genuine GM OEM parts listed below.
