Few problems with recording but the game itself was hard to record anyway. Game runs at 60fps and like most or perhaps all gamecube games, the speed is tied directly to the framerate. If the game isn't playing at it's regular framerate, it is literally moving slower. Recording and playing the game at 60fps was just too much for my computer and setting fraps to 30fps slows the game to 30 anyway. However, due to the nature of frame skipping available on the emulator, I'm able to simulate full speed at only 30fps, which doesn't actually matter on youtube since I think 30 is the max here anyway.
Even then the recording had issues. I had AA turned off to record(4x normally) as well as getting some audio popping. The music is also missing some channels or instruments which you can easily tell in the battles, it's very empty sounding. This is from the emulator, not recording. No success getting that to work properly yet but a dump of the sound files and using LLE options might solve this, though possibly slow the game down.
I was going to originally use the widescreen hack for actual 1080p output but the game unlike some others I've tried doesn't render enough objects outside of it's usual 4:3 box. This means that things are constantly popping in when they're on the edge of the screen because without the hack those things wouldn't be in view. I found crazy amounts of pop-in more jarring than 4:3, though you could just have the image stretch too if you wanted.
As for when I'm not recording, 60fps is easily sustained with AA being on at 4x, no frame skipping tricks.
