Little River Railroad (Coldwater, Michigan) and its 25th Anniversary on 7 / 27 / 25. Featuring Little River #1 (1908 Vulcan Iron Works, 0-4-0T), Little River #110 (1911 Baldwin, 4-6-2), Nickel Plate Road #765 (1944 Lima LW, 2-8-4).
The day featured 2 triple-headers eastbound from the station in Coldwater to Quincy Park in Quincy, Michigan. We rode the 11:00 a.m. train and chased the 2:00 p.m. train.
#765 disconnected from the 2pm train, and we chased the eastbound ferry move from the stop in Quincy to the Indiana Northeastern RR's yard in Hillsdale, Michigan (including passing a NYC heritage train depot), where she met the INE's anniversary GP-30 engine, along with #765's aux tender and crew car.
#765 was turned on the wye before GP-30 #2185 towed the steam engine southbound from Hillsdale, Michigan, to the stopping point at Pleasant Lake, Indiana, to meet up with Nickel Plate Road #358 (an original NKP diesel), where they had an event scheduled for the following day.
