On August 12, 1985, Japan Air Lines Flight 123 departed Tokyo for a short flight to Osaka. Minutes later, a catastrophic failure caused explosive decompression and left the aircraft almost impossible to control.
For over 30 minutes, the crew fought to keep the Boeing 747 in the air using only engine power. This investigation reconstructs the events of that flight and the findings that would become one of the most important lessons in aviation safety history.
