One of my favorite training methods is doing what we call in Kali "carenza" with the blade or heavy "flat stick" as way to focus my mind and open up the body.
Controlling the heavier weapon requires some thinking and sound positioning as well as body mechanics as in using your body to generate power while controlling its momentum.
In this video, I show you part of a routine I like to do along with others that you can learn quite a bit from and get lots of enjoyment out of.
If you don't have a tapered stick like mine you can use just a regular stick or baseball bat.
