Seven women and youth from the Tany Cooperative on Mozambique’s Inhaca Island traveled to Zanzibar, Tanzania, for a five-day learning visit under the Africa–Asia BlueTech Superhighway (AABS) project, focused on building skills in seaweed processing and the production of value-added seaweed products. During the exchange, participants learned from women-led cooperatives in Zanzibar about product diversification, quality control, and small-scale enterprise development, while also sharing experiences from their own communities.
The visit reflects AABS’s commitment to South–South collaboration, gender inclusion, and strengthening aquatic food value chains across Africa and Asia, and this video captures key moments from the hands-on training, peer learning, and participants’ plans to apply the knowledge to improve livelihoods back home.
