The walk begins with a slow pan along the River Corrib toward the Spanish Arch, then passes through the arch and across Father Griffin Road into the heart of the city. From there, we follow Quay Street as it turns into High Street and then Market Street, moving from waterfront calm into the lively pedestrian centre filled with shops, pubs, and street activity.
The walk finishes in Eyre Square, where the city opens up into a wide public space that often hosts Galway’s Christmas market and seasonal events. It’s a simple route, but it captures Galway’s mix of history, colour, and everyday movement in a single unbroken moment.
