Disc 21 continues our amazing Middle East tour and starts in Syria at Palmyra, then travels to Homs and Taladah to see St Simeon's column.
We cross over into Turkey and visit Mount Nemrut - located in southeastern Turkey's Adıyaman Province, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the 1st-century BC tomb-sanctuary of King Antiochus I of Commagene. It features colossal, scattered limestone heads of Greek and Persian deities.
On to Attaturk Dam, Urfa, then we visit Cappadocia, Hierapolis, Pamukkale, Ephesus, and Troy which are all UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit Gallipoli to pay our respects to the ANZAC's who fought there and finally into Istanbul. So much ancient history in one episode!
