'We did not hear the truth'; Spanberger delivers Democrat response to Trump's State of the Union

Описание: President Donald Trump delivered a marathon State of the Union speech Tuesday night where he touted his accomplishments and forecast a “golden age” for America thanks to his policies.

In a record-length address, the president said his policies have ushered in a new era of prosperity that is making the country safer and richer and pushed Congress to codify more of his economic proposals into law.

Trump is hoping he can persuade voters to back Republicans in the November midterm elections as he faces voter backlash over inflation and the first year of his presidency. Republicans are already operating on slim majorities in the House and Senate, putting them in a perilous position heading into the fall with the president’s approval ratings slipping.
Trump’s speech did not contain many new policy proposals, instead mostly focused on a list of accomplishments since he returned to offices with promises of more success to come over the rest of his term and blame on Democrats for the nation’s struggles.
