A day after West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee announced the cancellation of pending higher secondary exams for class 12 students scheduled next week. The state Education Department has written to Vice Chancellors of State-funded universities regarding the under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) examinations for 2020 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the two-page advisory, it has been informed, for final year students of general degree courses, UG and PG level, 80% weight-age should be considered on the basis of best aggregate percentage obtained by the candidate in any of the previous semesters' or years' result and 20% on internal assessment during the current semester or year as adopted by the University
