Bali welding workshop owner I Wayan Sumardana suffered a stroke six months ago, which paralyzed his left arm. Using bits and pieces from his workshop, the vocational high school graduate cobbled together an arm brace. It is attached to a head gear that he claims allows his thoughts to energize motion in his paralyzed arm. Although his invention has no scientific backing, it has made him a local media celebrity, and he is now known as the "Iron Man".
