Описание: The BMW i3 is the only electric vehicle that has been available consistently on the South African market since its launch in 2015. Throughout that period, BMW SA has kept up with developments overseas with all iterations since its launch coming to South Africa. The earliest models that came to South Africa were the 60 AH models that had an all-electric range of about 130 km. Versions with with a small petrol engine range extender (REX) were also available. Improvements in the battery extended the all-electric range to about 200 km in the follow up 94 AH version.
The latest iteration, the 120 AH i3 is now widely available in South Africa. The upgraded battery pack now allows for a range of almost 260 km depending on driving cycle and style. This makes the new i3 one of the models that comfortably passes our Gauteng Test! The Gauteng Test covers one of the most popular commutes in Africa, the Pretoria-Johannesburg-Pretoria commute. This is a ~130 km daily round trip for many families in South Africa’s Gauteng Province.
