Tenzin Choegyal widely known as a Ngari Rinpoche & the youngest brother of His Holliness the 14th Dalai Lama passed away on February 17, 2026 at the age of 80. He died at his Residence India Dharmsala.
Following the Chinese occupation of Tibet, he went to exile India alongside with thousands of Tibetans & His Holliness, where he dedicated his life to the preservation of Tibetan culture & national identity.
He maintained low profile but played an important role within the Tibetan community welfare. He represented His Holliness at religious & culture engagements, supported monastic institutions, contributed quietly to Humanitarian & culture initiatives benefiting Tibetan in exile.
He will always remembered for his lifelong commitment to the Tibetan people & there heritages.
