In this video, I discuss how to become an online writer! This one is a little different and is actually a recording of a talk I did to a creative writing group (thanks to my friend Carmen for filming!). This is part one of two. In this half, I discuss why companies look for writers and what they need and I talk a bit about how SEO and content marketing works. I also share how I find steady work and some of the tools and websites I use. Finally, I discuss how to create a website and get yourself out there.

Hopefully this information will be useful for anyone wanting to earn money online. And you can also apply these same tips to any other hobby or interest that you'd love to turn into a career. Want to be a rock star? Create a website and a YouTube channel showing off your music, write some SEO content and share your videos and articles in online communities and forums. Thanks to the web, you can achieve pretty much anything you set your mind to!
