In early 2021, Hopi tribal member Philip Tuwaletstiwa gave his permission for some of the foremost geneticists in the world to preform analyze of his DNA. They discovered that Philip’s DNA had direct DNA ties to the ancient peoples, (Ancestral Pueblo/Anasazi), of Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Specifically a direct DNA tie to the very high status individual interned in a burial cist in the bottom-most subfloor level of Room 33 in the Pueblo Bonito Greathouse.

IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT ALTHOUGH HE IS 100% HOPI, PHILLIP TUWALETSTIWA GAVE PERMISSION TO THE RESEARCHERS TO STUDY HIS DNA AS AN INDIVIDUAL, NOT AS A HOPI TRIBAL MEMBER.

In the autumn of 2024, Cloudy Ridge Productions interviewed Philip Tuwaletstiwa. Phil was interested in communicating this vital, factual, and scientific information about his genetical tie to Chaco Canyon; particularly Room 33 in Pueblo Bonito, to the general public.

Philip also specifically requested that Cloudy Ridge Productions conduct the interview so that we could share this very personal connection to Chaco Canyon.
