Welcome back, to Front 2 Back, our collective album Breeaction uploads where we bring everything together from previous uploads and experience the album in full for the first time!

This time, as homework before we conducted EP 32 of The Anatomy Podcast with Sam Brashear, the drummer for Kentucky Symphonic Metal band The Human Tragedy, we checked out THT's most recent full-length offering "Legacy Of Extermination"!

Lyrically?
-With only a couple tracks throughout the whole record actually having vocals incorporated into the songs, it is difficult to tell what the context of the lyrics actually are! I am not sure of the context of the vocals in the songs that they apply to, but lyrically speaking, I am sure that they provide depth in context to what the album title itself is called: that being “Legacy Of Extermination”!

Vocally?
-Vocally speaking, when listening to the entirety of this record, I was brought back and was reminded of bands such as, and not limited to The Black Dahlia Murder, Shadow Of Intent, Lamb Of God, and even Behemoth! The genre that this band associates themselves with barely fits the criteria and or the variety of bands listed above, including Blackened Deathcore, Death metal, black metal, and even some older thrash and Nü metal. For the parts where the vocalist had the opportunity, he shined!

Instrumentally?
-For the first time in my musical journey, I am hearing a record that is prominently instrumental: This being drums, guitar, and programmed orchestra and symphony. For that, I was pleasantly surprised. There did not need to be that much vocals on this record for it is still feel complete, and that is very important when you are writing music!


Overall Thoughts?
-The only thing that I wholeheartedly believe was missing from this record, despite my previous statement and saying that it is a complete record and it is completely fine without vocals, I would have preferred there to be more vocals throughout the record. However, for my first symphonic metal album that I’m listening to? Solid! 8/10!
