We're talking cobbled streets that haven't changed since the 1400s, market squares still running on the same footprint they were laid out on in the 1200s, and buildings that were already old when Shakespeare was born. In this video I went through eight of the most preserved medieval towns in England — from tiny places like Much Wenlock and Winchelsea that most people have never even heard of, to Sherborne in Dorset which I genuinely think is the closest thing to actual time travel you can do without leaving the country.
