Two Breton towns are visited today as we near the north coast of France. Vannes has remnants of its medieval heritage on display near the port. Huge walls tower above gardens which nestle in the former moats. We spend the night across a canal from the towers of Josselin`s impressive castle. While only four of the original nine towers remain it is still a marvellous sight. The town itself has many streets of colourful timber framed buildings and quaint squares to explore.
