In this video, I explain why I chose to virtualize MikroTik RouterOS (CHR) in Microsoft Azure instead of using their physical hardware — even though I do own some of their devices.

For many of us running homelabs, we only have one production network and a single internet connection. That makes testing complex networking features like NAT, VPNs, and firewall rules risky — especially without breaking something in the real world.

So instead of trying to build a redundant network at home, I show you how to deploy MikroTik RouterOS as a cloud-based virtual lab using Azure. This lets you safely test and simulate advanced scenarios — including staging environments, remote access setups, and more — without touching your physical setup.
