It's the pain inside of you, the mark the world left on you, that is the mark that you will then leave on the world. Ask yourself the question "What mark do I have, what scars do I have and how can those develop into a passion to accomplish something for the world"?
Hank is the founder of AdoptTogether.org, the world’s first crowdfunding site for adoption costs. His family has adopted 8 children from 5 different countries and fostered 36 children while he was a boy. Moved by his upbringing, he now works to create a world with no more orphans.
In the first 3 years, AdoptTogether.org has helped 1400 families raise over $6M to cover adoption expenses and bring their children home. Families come from all 50 states in the U.S, and have adopted from 43 different countries.
Hank is also the founder of World Adoption Day, a day designated to celebrate adoption around the world.
In the inaugural World Adoption Day in November 2014, there were over 250 ambassadors on 5 continents leading events to celebrate adoption and the families who brought them home.
His work has been featured in Forbes, Buzzfeed, CNN, and Huffington Post.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
