Drummers, this five-minute warm-up has completely changed the way I feel on the drum set—physically, mentally, and creatively.
Whether you’re jumping from a practice pad to your acoustic kit, or (like me) walking on stage at a drum clinic/festival to play a totally foreign setup, these five one-minute exercises will get you acquainted with the drum kit FAST!

The Routine:
1️⃣ Pedal Focus – Get your foot and pedal tension dialed in.
2️⃣ Sweet-Spot Hands – Move around the kit, aim for the center of each drum, avoid the rims.
3️⃣ Linear Flow – Tighten the conversation between hands and foot.
4️⃣ Four-Way Independence – Simple or complex, all limbs working together.
5️⃣ Creative Brain Warm-Up – Improvise with a restriction to spark ideas.

⏱️Set a timer: one minute per exercise, five minutes total.
