I started my Triund trek at around 10 a.m. from McLeod Ganj, with the mountain air already hinting at the challenge ahead. The route winds through dense forests of oak and rhododendron, with a steady climb that slowly tests your stamina. While the trail is well-marked, the continuous ascent makes the trek moderately difficult, especially for first-timers. As we gained altitude, the weather turned harsh and unpredictable—cold winds, sudden clouds, and dropping temperatures made the climb tougher than expected. Despite the strain on the legs and the biting chill, the route rewarded every step with breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range. By the time Triund came into view, the exhaustion blended with a quiet sense of achievement, making the trek as memorable as it was challenging.
