Описание: My name is Dan, and I am a railfan based mainly on Pan Am Railways’ Districts 2 and 3. On Saturday, September 21st, 2019 I woke up in the morning with hopes of getting at NS 8102, the Pennsylvania Railroad heritage unit on 22K before the crowds of people were ultimately to come out for it on 23K in the afternoon. After getting POED to start the day, I wouldn’t have to go far before finding 22K (with the AY-1 crew) sitting on the east leg of the wye in Ayer, MA waiting to head down to the SanVel auto facility with loaded autoracks. Coming off the wye with NS 8151 (ES44AC) leading NS 8102 (ES44AC) and their short cut of cars, this would commence a short chase eastward. Due to a string of racks already occupying the #2 track down by SanVel, 22K was instructed to make an interesting maneuver by pulling through CPF-312 (Willows East) with their train before backing through and up to SanVel for spotting their loads. Up to the Rte. 119 bridge in Littleton, MA we would go, getting some quick shots of the train as they backed through the interlocking in nice light. As 22K would be a while spotting their autoracks, we headed back to Shirley, MA in search of EDPO with some EMD power within the consist. Unfortunately for us it would turn out that EDPO had snuck by us and over to CPF-307 in Westford, MA, there to be tied down until the noon crew came on-duty. On the flip side, it had already been a while since 22K started to work SanVel by the time we figured this out, so no sooner would we hear 22K asking to come through CPF-312 again and head back to Ayer yard. Hurrying over to CPF-WL at Willow RD in Ayer, we would arrive with just enough time to spare before 22K hustled by with NS 8102 getting its only time in charge of the consist although long hood forward. After getting one more shot of the move headed back up the east wye and into the yard, we knew it would be a solid 4-5 hours before 23K would be in the picture. As if to aid in making the time pass by, we would be welcomed by a heads up that EDPO was departing CPF-307 with the power rearranged so the MEC 600 was leading! Getting our stuff together we went over to Meadowcroft ST in Lowell, MA, where we would begin a successful chase of EDPO MEC 600 (SD40-3), MEC 7595 (C40-8), MEC 7643 (C40-8) and MEC 3403 (SD40-2). After completing our little chase to East ST in Tewksbury, MA, we would get word that 23K was starting their build back in Ayer. Finding 23K readying for departure back in Ayer, we headed back over to Shirley to claim a spot in advance. Avoiding the foam to the best of our abilities, we caught 23K accelerating under the B-39.0 signals before chasing the train uphill to CPF-335 in Westminster, MA, then concluding at the Pleasant ST bridge in Gardner, MA. Overall not a bad day of chasing NS 8102 despite the fact it was trailing! Although it wouldn’t end there, as we would then head off to find POAY and B728, to end a long day of railfanning. This is my two hundred and forty-first video of many more to come, so please feel free to like, comment, and subscribe.
