As I was writing this song, I couldn’t help but think about the season we’re approaching. We are about one month away from Easter weekend — a time when we remember the true meaning of our salvation. It’s not just a holiday, but a celebration of the victory Jesus won for us when He went to the cross and gave His life.

This song was written as a tribute to our risen Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s a moment of reflection on the greatest act of love the world has ever known. When sin had us bound and shame tried to define us, love stepped in. Jesus took our place, carried our burden, and made a way for us to be free.

Because of the cross, we are no longer prisoners to sin. Because of His sacrifice, we have hope, redemption, and new life. My prayer is that this song reminds us to pause and truly remember what Jesus did for each of us.

Let’s celebrate Jesus and the sacrifice He made so that we could be set free from the bondage of sin and shame.
