I encourage you to hunt around for used/refurbished stuff, since you can save a lot of money and get the same exact quality. Used audio equipment especially is a really good value, but as long as you're comfortable verifying what condition something is in, it's a great way to get more for your money. Amazon Used and eBay have generous return policies if something isn't what you expect, so make sure to use that option!
