FYI: I cut out a section of the song because it did not fit in with the video and the story. Hence the audio is a little choppy where the two audio clips meet. It also means a stanza of the song repeats one after the other. But I thought it flowed quite well with the video so I didn't change it.
Now this music video is about all the pain Simone and Annabelle went through to be together, only to end up being separated. It's about how alone they felt before they knew each other and even when they knew each other.
The song has quite a few metaphors, in my opinion anyway. The lyrics "solid stone is just sand and water" could
1: indicate how their bond could still be broken no matter how powerful their love
2: how one is sand and the other is water and together they merge to become one (the rock).
