Five male vocalists and female pianist recreate World War One in song and sound effects in novelty act. The men, clustered around microphone, sing snatches of popular wartime tunes such as "Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag" and "It's a Long Way to Tipperary". Between songs the men use their voices to make sounds of bombs, trains, gun fire and Cockney soldiers chatting in the trenches.
