Описание: Can Smart Lights Improve Your Sleep Quality?

This is the question we sought to answer in a research collaboration that SleepSpace conducted with LIFX Smart Bulbs and Google Home Assistant. We investigated whether dimming your lights with a voice command at night and brightening them in the morning improved perceived sleep quality. We compared this to a sham condition where the lights also changed, but not in the ideal way for sleep.

We were excited to find that the intervention seemed to work!

People thought they slept better on a validated survey when they used the smart light intervention. This is one of the first studies to show that light can be used to improve sleep.

He also describes the steps to setting up your LIFX bulbs and integrating with SleepSpace to use light and sound at wind down, sleep, and wake up to augment your sleep quality. We call this your unique sleep journey.

The steps include:

1) Download LIFX app and create a login
2) Pressing the + button (bottom right)
3) Get the bulb in pairing mode by turning it on and off 5 times
4) Make sure the bulb flashes the colors of the rainbow (this means it is ready to pair)
5) Find the HK number on the bulb and enter it into the LIFX app
6) Your light is now paired and you can control it with Siri or Google assistant as well
7) Download the SleepSpace app and hit the gear in the upper right
8) Find the lights tab and login using the LIFX account you just created
9) Test out how the lights change at your wind down and wake up
10) Bonus SleepSpace can also set the duration of your sunrise alarm clock from 1 minute to 10 minutes for a more abrupt or gradual wake up experience.
