Part 2 starts as we leave Big River Hut and point the bikes back toward Reefton — but the trip quickly throws a few curve balls.
The crew gets split, plans change, and what should’ve been a straightforward run turns into a day of problem-solving, long miles, and some classic backcountry curveballs. I end up pushing on toward Denniston, riding high above the coast through wild, exposed terrain before looping back to Reefton for the night.
