Yes ppl! it's possible! it's possible to finish this quest using range on f2p. You will need a vey good range bonus and def. bonus. Bring the best food you can get --- YOU WILL NEED! When I killed that dragon my stats were:
Range:58
Defence:33
Prayer:24
Combat:50.... wtf? i did this at combat 50?!? i must be crazy :))
