Vegetable Khichdi Kadhi meal for Kids!

🥣 Vegetable Khichdi
Ingredients
½ cup split moong dal
½ cup rice
1 carrot, grated
1 zucchini, grated
1 mild green chilli
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp jeera
Pinch hing
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
1–2 tbsp ghee
5 cups water
1️⃣ Heat ghee, add jeera, grated ginger, hing, green chilli.
2️⃣ Add pepper powder and turmeric.
3️⃣ Add grated carrot and zucchini, sauté lightly.
4️⃣ Add ½ cup moong dal + ½ cup rice.
5️⃣ Add 5 cups water and salt.
6️⃣ Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
Kadhi
Ingredients
500 ml buttermilk
¼ cup besan
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1–2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp jeera
Pinch hing
1 green chilli
1 tsp grated ginger
Cinnamon stick
Cloves
Peppercorns
Star anise
Coriander leaves for garnish
1️⃣ Mix ¼ cup besan + 500 ml buttermilk + salt + 1 tsp sugar.
2️⃣ Heat ghee, add whole spices, jeera, hing, ginger, green chilli.
3️⃣ Add buttermilk mixture.
4️⃣ Stir till it boils, then simmer 15 mins (stir occasionally).
5️⃣ Adjust with water and add chopped coriander.
🟢 Butter Tossed Peas
1️⃣ Boil ½ cup green peas with a little salt.
2️⃣ Drain the water.
3️⃣ Heat 1 tsp butter, add peas and sauté for 2 minutes.
Simple side for khichdi & kadhi. 🥣
