Opposition leaders accused officials of demanding bribes for liquor licences, with BJP claiming a scam worth ₹6,000 crore. Visuals showed MLAs, including Ashwath Narayan and Bharath Shetty, spending the night inside the Assembly.

The protest follows the arrest of Excise Deputy Commissioner Jagadeesh Naik and two others for accepting ₹25 lakh in bribes. Timmapur denied any wrongdoing, citing reforms under his tenure, while Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar called the allegations baseless.
