Scheduled Execution (01/28/26): Charles Thompson – Texas Death Row – Killed ex-G/f & Her New B/f

Описание: Charles Victor Thompson (55) is scheduled to be executed in Texas on January 28, 2026. Thompson was sentenced to death after killing his ex-girlfriend, Dennise Hayslip (39) and her new boyfriend, Darren Cain (30), in 1998, in Houston, Texas (receiving a death sentence for Dennise's murder and a life sentence for killing Darren). Seven years later, in 2005, Thompson managed to get ahold of a handcuff key and escaped from a holding cell at Harris County Jail after a resentencing court hearing. He was captured four days later in Louisiana.

UPDATE (WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2026): — Charles Thompson (55) was executed this evening in Texas. His official time of death was 6:50pm local time. With his last words, Thompson addressed the families of his victims by stating: “I would like to say that I hope the victim’s family, their extended family, and their loved ones can find forgiveness in their heart and that you can begin to heal and move past this. There is no winners in this situation, it creates more victims and traumatizes more people 28 years later. I’m sorry for what I did, I’m sorry for what happened, and I want to tell all of y’all, I love you and that keep Jesus in your life, keep Jesus first. To my children, get to know the Lord, and I love you all. That’s it Warden.” — Texas does not allow a special final meal request prior to executions.
