Hey everyone Shane here at etrailer.com. Today I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, and I had it has an off-road bumper on it. We're going to be showing you how to install the D-ring adapters for a roadmaster tow bar. D-ring adapters are going to be designed for bumpers like this; off-road bumpers. One thing to keep in mind is if you have an off-road bumper with D-rings on it, you need to contact the manufacturer make sure that the bumper is capable of towing. Because not all of them that have D-rings are capable of flat towing the vehicle behind our motor home, or being used to flat tow the vehicle.

Once you determine that it is, having a D-ring on there doesn't allow you to put a regular base plate on it, that's where the adapters come into place. They take the place of the adapters that are already on the tow bar, to allow you to connect to that D-ring that's on the bumper. The adapters are going to come with the pins. It's also going to come with a sleeve, and you may or may not need this. What you need to do is check the hole, if the hole is bigger than the pin, this lead is going to go in place to keep any plate from where this pin goes in.

This is simply you slide it in like that, slide your pin through, and then put on your pin and that locks it into place. You're going to need a steel construction black powder coat finish. They are going to come with all new hardware. Which once installing them you need to make sure you're using the new hardware that comes into the kit, as well as it's going to come with pins. Now, the pins are replaceable.

You can find those here at etrailer. Two things that you need to know to determine what size d-link adapter you're going to need; they come in two sizes, they come in three quarter inch, and one inch. You need to measure the width of the D-ring, and also the pinhole size. We're going to be installing these on the roadmaster falcon all-terrain tow bar. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the d-link adapters, let's go ahead show you how to put them on.

Shane To start your installation what you want to do is you want to put a mark, on the sleeve and on the arm. So when we remove this bolt to remove this bracket, if this moves at all, we need to make sure we get it in the correct spot. We're going to take an Allen head wrench, or an Allen wrench. And a socket wrench, we're going to remove this bolt. We will not be reusing this bolt. Or these two nylon washers. We're going to take our new one make sure we're lined up, our new D-ring adapter. Gonna get our bolt down, along with the new nylon washer. We're going to get another washer in between here, there. Be easier if you have a screwdriver or a pick with you. On the nut, and then we'll tighten it into place. It's only going to tighten so much, and then it's going to bottom out. That allows this to freely move. Once you get one on, you're gonna repeat the process for the other one. Once you get both brackets installed, hook up to your vehicle and you're ready to go.
