Brian Wilson’s inspiration for this song came from the Ronettes “Be My Baby”. It was sort of an “answer song”:to that one. For me, this is the best example of the Beach Boys’ otherworldly vocal harmonies. To think this was the “B” side to “I Get Around” , a less memorable song.This version uses an alternate lead vocal that is slightly doubled by the original lead vocals. The drums get lost in most other versions, but I wanted the to be heard. The lyrics remind me of a certain scene from a classic movie, which I feature in parts of the video. However, I used a more recent creation of that scene that features a certain early 90s pop diva. I hope you really enjoy this new mix and the video. PLEASE leave a comment.
