What do you think when you hear the term Bande Dessinée? What does it mean to you? I almost never use this term myself but I have noticed it means very different things to different people. The definition changes based on location, country and language. I feel the same way about terms like Comics and Graphic Novel. For me Manga feels like the term with universally most unified definition.
These are just observations. I don´t want to be a language police or elitist on this issue. For me personally it doesn´t matter how people describe any comics. I have always understood what is said regardless of the terms used. But I do think it helps to remember that the fans of comics use different names for same things so we don´t get caught in semantics:)
