3 week self drive adventure in Namibia April/May 2025

Описание: After a year of planning we travelled to Namibia in April /May 2025. Although we have travelled many times in Africa , it was our first time in Namibia and what an adventure it was. We fell in love with the country as we stepped off the plane and the love affair continued for the whole trip : from its vast open expanses , empty roads, spectacular scenery , incredible wildlife and friendly welcoming people.
I have been persuaded by a friend to make a video of our trip and this is part 1. It proved hard to edit the 3000 photos /videos I had taken down any further, and I didn't think anyone wanted to spend over an hour looking at someone's holiday snaps. I am therefore making 3 videos : 2 covering our trip from top to bottom of Namibia and 1 of our stay in Etosha.
When we were planning our trip I watched many videos to get ideas of places to visit, but many people did not show the routes they travelled , what the roads are like to drive or what the accommodation is like. I felt this is important if you are planning a trip to a new country and have tried to include as much as I can.
As you will soon see we are not experienced video makers , and don't have fancy cameras or go pros. Everything is filmed from the passenger seat with a hand held pocket camera , and the final editing is probably a bit lacking. I hope though it will give you an experience of what it is like to self drive in Namibia, and if you have any questions I will be happy to answer on here.
