Custer State Park and wildlife reserve, in South Dakota's Black Hills region, is South Dakota's largest and first state park. Needles Highway (South Dakota Highway 87) passes through two tunnels blasted through sheer granite walls — Iron Creek Tunnel and Needles Eye Tunnel. Unfortunately for us, we passed thru these two tunnels at the wrong time of day - the sun did not interact with the camera very well.
