What Should Young Thug Trial Jury Hear About Jamari Holmes' Murder?

Описание: The 65-count indictment against Jeffery "Young Thug" Williams involves the racketeering (RICO) conspiracy charge as well as two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

The murder charges are for the Jan. 10, 2015, shooting death of Donovan Thomas and the March 2022 shooting death of Shymel Drinks. The case also involves a third murder that's included among the 191 overt acts supporting the RICO charge. That murder is the 2019 murder of Jamari Holmes. A jury convicted Young Thug's trial co-defendant Rodalius "Lil Rod" Ryan of Holmes' murder in 2022.

Ryan already is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole, but he's charged with a single RICO count so is in court every day for trial. He's rarely mentioned, but prosecutors also have not gotten to the Holmes murder.

In anticipation that they eventually will, Ryan's lawyer Angela D'Williams filed a motion seeking to prevent prosecutors from presenting Holmes' autopsy photos as evidence. Attorney Leah Abbasi was in court with Ryan today when Judge Paige Reese Whitaker took it up.
