Families were seen loading trucks and walking for miles along snowbound roads as winter conditions worsened. Thousands have gathered at registration centers in the nearby town of Bara to be recorded as displaced persons and seek government assistance.

Displaced residents say they left only after evacuation warnings were broadcast from mosques, rejecting claims that seasonal snowfall alone drove the movement. Pakistan’s defence minister has denied any planned military operation, calling the migration routine, while residents insist the warnings forced them to flee.

The Tirah Valley has long been a stronghold of Islamist militants, and the government has not officially announced any evacuation order.
