"Three men entered my home one night when I was sick and asleep. I was held down. Raped. They almost killed me. Additionally, there was a lot of police misconduct with the response that night. It is in the reports.

I grew up in a hard-nosed blue-collar community in the Midwest. Guys don't talk about stuff like this when it happens to us. An unexpected moment of laughter on a suicidal night began an unusual five-year cross-country odyssey of recovery. And my efforts to reach a symbolic goal.

The three perpetrators have threatened me and tried to intimidate me if I continue to speak out. Some of that has been physical threats while I was out running in my neighborhood. Lots of gaslighting I have endured from these guys and their friends and family."
