A flight around Hartlepool marina and the old saling ship HMS trincomalee. Built in 1817 in Bombay (modern-day Mumbai), HMS Trincomalee is now over 200 years old. Before being stationed at Hartlepool, HMS Trincomalee travelled over 100,000 miles around the globe. Despite never seeing combat, HMS Trincomalee has a fascinating history. During her active service, she undertook duties that included policing, protection, and exploration.Its the last remaining Royal Navy ship to be built in India.
Also a steam ship called ps wingfield castle. The Wingfield Castle was built by William Gray & Company at Hartlepool, and launched in 1934, along with a sister ship, the Tattershall Castle.[5] A third similar vessel, the Lincoln Castle built in Glasgow, was launched in 1940.[3]
She was earmarked to become a floating restaurant in Swansea Marina in the early 1980s but was too wide to fit through the lock gates.[3] She is now preserved at the Museum of Hartlepool as a floating exhibit at Jackson Dock
