Описание: Brahms’ Six Piano Pieces op. 118 are one of his last compositions. In his later years, Brahms wrote various sets of shorter piano pieces: the adjacent opus numbers op. 117 and op. 119, for example, are also collections of piano pieces. As can be observed in the oeuvre of many composers, Brahms evolved from a youthful, virtuosic style of piano writing to a more introspective way of writing, which is particularly noticeable in the second intermezzo.

Pieter here plays the first three pieces:-
1. Intermezzo in A minor. Allegro non assai, ma molto appassionato
2. Intermezzo in A major. Andante teneramente
3. Ballade in G minor. Allegro energico

Belgian pianist Pieter Bogaert, son of Member Peter Bogaert, is currently studying with Frank van de Laar at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam. Until 2014, he studied with Griet Dodion in Brussels. While studying physics at university, he took piano and composition lessons with David Earl in Cambridge, and during his studies in Oxford, he joined the performance class of Raymond Fischer.

Pieter has participated in masterclasses with numerous professors such as Boris Berman, Naum Grubert, Eldar Nebolsin, Jan Wijn and Boris Giltburg. He has also taken part in festivals such as The International Holland Music Sessions, Classical Summer Lisbon and Festival Young Talent Schiermonnikoog.

In addition to his solo piano playing, Pieter loves to play chamber music. He has had chamber music masterclasses with Isabel Charisius (ex-Alban Berg Quartett), Nobuko Imai and Sebastian Schmidt (Mandelring Quartett) among others. Pieter has a particular focus on the Lied repertoire, and he was coached by Pierre Mak, Jeff Cohen and Gerold Huber. He has a duo with baritone Albert Jan de Boer.

Pieter has performed in Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom.
