Описание: Pediatrician with 20 years of experience in international child health including African and Asia-Pacific regions. Particular interests include pneumonia and tuberculosis as well as invasive bacterial disease especially invasive salmonellosis in tropical Africa. PhD was awarded from the University of Amsterdam on "Impact of HIV on respiratory disease in Malawian children" and was awarded Leverhulme Medal for distinguished contribution to tropical medicine by Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK (2007). He works closely with WHO and national disease control programmes in development of management guidelines for child TB, pneumonia and HIV-related illness. Working to improve implementation of child lung health management in resource-limited setting, Steve works part-time for The Union. He is a founding member and current chair of the Child TB subgroup of WHO Stop TB Partnership, and took a leading role in the development of the Roadmap for Child TB that was launched on October 1st, 2013.
