Every year a group of Sea Ice Scientists get traversed 40km out into the middle of McMurdo Sound. Their camp is made up of 9 shipping containers which are pulled out onto the sea ice with a D6 Bulldozer and Piston Bully.
This year I was given the job to lead the return traverse of the container camp back to Scott Base.
To do this we traversed 4 hours out one afternoon, stayed at the camp overnight and then packed up camp in the morning and traversed 6 hours home!
