The Decision Support Service at Bloom 2025

Описание: Almost 90% of people will consider doing an enduring power of attorney (EPA) with a new State service, following a visit to an award-winning show garden at the 2025 Bord Bia Bloom festival over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Of a sample survey of adults surveyed by staff of the Decision Support Service (DSS) ‘Support Garden’ from Thursday to Sunday, 89.5% of them said they will consider making the key advance planning arrangement with the DSS, having not already had one in place.
The DSS, which is established in the Mental Health Commission, is a national service under the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015 to support adults with their right to make decisions now - or in the future.

Sponsored by the DSS, the purpose of the show garden - which was awarded a ‘Silver Gilt’ medal for designer, Joe Eustace, and which has already been visited by thousands of people of the tens of thousands who visit Bloom each year - is to stimulate people to start a conversation around advance planning.
